Learn What you Missed!
Were you 'busy with life' when personal computers were first introduced in the 1980's? Then this series of classes is for you!
We introduce you to some of the most basic concepts of using a personal computer. These are the concepts that todays' young adults have learned in their infancy. At that time, we parents were working to provide them with the best education we could, at the expense of our own education.
Now is YOUR time to learn these concepts! Along the way, we are certain, you will come to realize you know more about computers than you thought you knew.
Leftys please note: if you just began using a computer; please use the Mouse item in the Control Panel (Class 2, item 7 on the Class Selector page) to tell the computer you are left handed! It will prevent the agony of forcing yourself to use a right-handed device with your left hand!
Getting Started:
Currently these classes are totally free. All you need to get started is to touch the button in the left column labeled ‘Class Selector’, or if you do not have a touch screen, position your mouse cursor on the same button, then, using your pointing finger, momentarily press the mouse button WITHOUT MOVING THE MOUSE! If this seems like a particularly difficult thing to do, the section on using a mouse (Class 2, items 1 and 2 on the Class Selector page) will help you.
Bills brief resume:
Graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1960. One of thirteen in the first Computer Technology course. During the years since then I have: constructed computers, serviced computers, programmed computers, and applied computers in Robotics, Machine Vision, Data Acquisition and Inspection Systems. I designed microscopes and illumination devices for Semiconductor Wafer Inspection Systems. I also designed a specialized camera to measure the height of objects on semiconductor wafers. After successful demonstration of the camera, my manager at the time and I were awarded a US Patent for the process.
